I am Kady Kellogg, I’m 13 and this was my first year freestyle kayaking and my first year competing. I was really scared at the beginning of the year. The first competition I did was in Glenwood Springs, CO. I didn’t really want to compete because there weren’t many girls but it was good for me to get my feet wet because I had to compete against my brothers and other boys the whole year. In Green River, WY, I was planning to compete, but when I surfed the hole I got stuck in it and it made me really scared so I didn’t compete there.

Kayaking with Kids … Getting Them Started!
When people see us on the river, they always assume we are a school … at a minimum there are 5 paddlers, at most there are 10! We try to balance our days with fun (epic) paddling for the older kids and fun (and safe) paddling for the younger kids. I can tell you, paddling with us is a blast … we can make the easiest Class II river fun for the expert and we can take the stress out of a tough paddle simply by laughing at me!
The New 2013 Jackson All Star Goes Huge
Grady has been competing in the new Jackson All Star during the World Cup Series … he loves it — it goes bigger than any other boat before it and it doubles as a pretty sick river runner for easy Class IV’s and below. He’s ordered a new one in his own custom color! Read … Read more
2012 ICF Freestyle World Cup Competition; #1 Rock Island
The first World Cup in the Series was in Rock Island, TN and it was, hands down, the most organized competition we’ve ever competed at! There were 3 days of competition and each day there was water only during a certain number of hours, so everything had to run smoothly to get all the events in and it was as perfect as could ever be hoped for. To simply be here at this event is crazy exciting, there is so much adrenaline, so much excitement, and, for us, so much unknown!!
Addictions, Not Always a Bad Thing!
So we’ve been at the beach for 1 week and it was the best full week ever. There was minimal fighting, sand, salt and wind swept kids who crashed the minute we returned to the RV, and total utter fun and relaxation. We’d get down to the beach around 10 am and not return to … Read more
Montana National Championships – Wrap-Up!!
The point series tour has come to a close and I can’t say we aren’t a little sad, but we have so much to look forward to and so much to look back on with incredible memories. First and foremost, we have spent the past 6 weeks traveling as a family and every single one of us can take something amazing away from each and every experience.
