I saw a post the other day that said, “I don’t try to avoid problems, I look for bigger ones”. And I haven’t gotten it out of my head since. It’s a pretty powerful point. Because we don’t grow when things are easy. We grow when we can face challenges. If something doesn’t challenge you it won’t change you. This started me thinking about my own comfort zone. And how, maybe I haven’t pushed myself hard enough to be uncomfortable.
You know, stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things is the best way to grow.
Getting out of your comfort zone is how you will crush the normal fears that everyone faces. Overcoming the stuff that scares you, and what most people would never try, helps you to become mentally tough. Mental toughness will help you overcome this negative world, and instead of absorbing all the negativity, you see positivity and hope and excitement.
With all this in my head I’ve decided I am going to challenge myself every day. Physically and mentally. I’m going to push myself out of my comfort zone daily. From talking to strangers to climbing a 14er to trying new foods. There is an endless list of things that will push me and I want to experience them all.
I’d love for you to join me. Let’s do something everyday that scares us and makes us uncomfortable. I’m up for any and all suggestions, and we can do them together.
Let’s get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Get confident with being uncertain. Let’s not quit because something is hard. We can push through the challenge. Here are a couple of quotes that help me stay motivated and inspired by this challenge.
